From British Vogue online:
CHRISTY TURLINGTON is celebrating the birth of a daughter, by actor Ed Burns. The American supermodel, who married Burns in San Francisco last June in a gown by John Galliano, has refused to comment on her pregnancy since rumours began to abound shortly after the wedding. But according to a report in the New York Post, their baby girl was born last Saturday. She is likely to be the first of a large brood for Christy and Ed. The beautiful pair, who originally delayed their wedding following September 11, have often spoken in the past of their desire to have at least four yoga-loving, vegetarian children.
UP THE "RIVER": Brace yourselves, Ed Burns is making another movie. He's just starring in this one, a murder mystery called "The River King," to be directed by Nick Willing ("Hypnotic"). The film is based on the Alice Hoffman novel; David Kane will adapt the screenplay. Burns plays a small-town cop who investigates a prep-school student's drowning. London's Myriad Pictures is working with Canada's imX communications to produce, through U.K.-based Grosvenor Park's First Choice Films. More casting announcements will be made soon, and the flick is supposed to start principal photography in Canada in spring 2004.
From E! Online:
It was a model delivery for beauty Christy Turlington.
The supermodel turned yoga pro gave birth to a baby girl last Saturday with hubby Ed Burns by her side, reports the New York Post.
A call to Burns' rep to confirm the good news was not returned.
The winsome twosome, who tied the knot in June, refused to confirm Turlington's pregnancy all along, even after being spotted at birth classes in New York by E! Online columnist Ted Casablanca.
It's a first child for both.
By our calculations, Turlington must have been preggers during the couple's Catholic ceremony at the Saints Peter and Paul's Church in San Francisco this summer.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
The couple may just have been making up for lost time. They met three years ago at a Hamptons charity event and announced their engagement within six months of dating. Originally meant to tie the knot in Europe in October 2001, they postponed the nuptials in the wake of September 11 before capping the will-they-or-won't-they speculation this summer.
Burns should have plenty of time to pitch in with the baby since shooting has wrapped on the Saving Private Ryan star's upcoming movie. Burns will star in the Ray Bradbury adaptation A Sound of Thunder about the wide-ranging effects of time travel. The movie is scheduled for release in April, 2004.
Since retiring from the catwalk, Turlington's launched Nuala, a line of yoga wear, and Sundari, a skin-care line. She's also an advocate for the American Cancer Society.
